Can online empowerment lead to offline empowerment?

I believe online empowerment is the step to offline empowerment.
Online access can provide to unprecedented levels of access to information, which can not only help in increasing knowledge but also provide them awareness about their fundamental rights. Women need to be aware of their rights to be able to fight for them. Online empowerment also gives them a platform to fight, we see causes/ fan pages becoming increasingly common.
It also gives them an oppurtunity to work. A friend of mine does freelance writing because her dad did not allow her to leave her house for internship etc. It gives oppurtunities to work e.g home based ventures.
In this patriarchal society online empowerment gives the women a more equality based platform for participation where they could have not particpated otherwise.
