Tamil People in Sri Lanka Need Internet Freedom

Posted May 28, 2014 from United States

Many Tamils today live in Northern Sri Lanka. They don' t have communication to international community, so there are problems such as political problems for more than 60 years. The government has a heavy sensor on the internet and the government heavily monitors all searches. The government uses this to find and kill anyone who questions the government with certain searches. This is why information is very scarce in the Sri Lankan internet. Why has not the international committee noticed this.

Very valuable thoughts! Could you weigh in on how it can be done?

I appreciate knowing about the situation in Sri Lanka. I was not aware of how repressive the control of the Internet is there. If you have ideas about what could be done to help, it would be great to hear from you. It is so critical to do all we can to make information on the internet available to all. That freedom of information connects us all and builds community beyond the national borders.

My gratitude. Bheki
