About Me

Hello everyone, My name is Dr. Shruti Kapoor. I am a gender equality activist, economist and the Founder of Sayfty. Shaken by the horrific gang rape in Delhi 2012 that caught the attention of the global news media, I founded Sayfty to educate and empower women and girls of India against violence. My organization aims at not only creating awareness on laws and legal rights around the issue of #VAW, but also uses digital media, tech-for-good and storytelling for women’s safety

The White House recently nominated me as a change maker for the Women Of State Summit. I have received several awards including the International Women of the Year, 2015, People’s choice Femvertising Award, and the Rex Karamveer Global Fellowship for my work on women and girls safety. I am a distinguished alumna of UCR, having graduated with a PhD in Economics. Prior to Sayfty, I was consulted at The World Bank.

My Vision

My vision is to see a gender equal world which free of violence against women. Where all women and girls feel safe and free.
