World Pulse, a strong support system

Sometime back, I shared a resource here for the International day of girls in ICT. Oh yeah, It was a successful event.

About 60 Girls in Abuja, Nigeria turned up heartily to celebrate the day.

The girls greatly enjoyed the workshops which included Website Design, Graphics Design, Game Design with Python, Digital Marketing and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Most of the girls confessed they had a paranoia about ICT as they thought it was a man's path. Some also complained they have never had access to tools like computers and laptops.

We did reiterate to the girls that ICTs were not just for men, and a lot of the girls showed great interest. Most of them were interested in web design courses, and digital marketing. Some were amazed with the games we designed using the python programming language. They played a few of the games.

At the end of the event, most of the girls were willing to pursue careers in ICT related fields. A network was created , and together with some of the girls, we will be building websites for business visibility for some of the girls who had businesses.

Our mission to encourage more girls to get into ICT fields was fulfilled.

I so much love the world pulse platform. I read stories here, and I am so encouraged by the amount of impact girls, women are creating all over the world. It is a platform where love, and support excel.

Thank you @sophiengassa and @Jilllanghus for always encouraging me.
