Rosalie Fish runs a marathon for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women
‘When I run about it, people will notice’: Rosalie Fish She is a native youth...her t-shirt depicts what the Government says about Indigenous Women...calling native people "savage" What can I say, she brings the message world wide on the epidemic of missing and murdered native women. We seek action, justice and change....its time for recognising that it is a crisis. Native girls, women, and children go missing in North America and nothing is done!

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for sharing your disturbing, but informative post, to spread awareness about this heinous epidemic. I'm at a loss. Tam wrote an inspiring post a couple of days ago, but it just doesn't seem like enough is being done about this issue.

I hope you're doing well, and having a good weekend, on a different note...

I know, information to go out to the world should be done by a native advocate who understands, lives the life, and comes from the native nations. It isn't enough - the Human Rights issue doesn't cover the Indian Act or policies. Police brutality etc. I was chased down Tzouhalem Road last year by a car load of non-native youth, about 5 in the car. They were speeding after my car trying to push me off the road. Thank God, I am a fast driver..I drove into the Jack drive way...and they sped off. All my nephews came out...they told me not to drive down Tzouhalem Road from dust till dawn - they said Maple Bay boys come out and go after native peoples. Its racism - police do nothing. So, yes its a crisis.

Wow! WTH! That's so sad, embarrassing and wrong that this happened to you, and is happening. It is racism and it is a crisis. Like the indigenous people haven't been through enough...ga! I apologize for their behavior. I know it's not enough but it's very, very unacceptable:-(

I know but it's still horrible behavior, and I want you to know that there aren't all horrible people out there:-( And, so it seems:-( Hmm. Well, I hope and pray for a better, more peaceful and tolerant future for all indigenous people; and everyone for that matter. There's no single, logical reason for racism to exist, anywhere.

its a painful reality with high addictions, no employment, low income, limited and marginalised housing. Right now we are stepping up our campaign for the native elders forum; please help by donating.

I would if I could, dear but I'm unable to help with purchases or finances, but you can share your need on the "Resources" page, if you like. Good luck with your fundraiser!
