Introducing myself and my journal: Heart Path

About Me:
A third-culture 'kid' with a background in international affairs and economic development, I am passionate about building bridges of understanding with others and leveraging ideas, people and policy to build a better world. I believe that when we are able to build bridges of understanding, courageously align our heads with our hearts, and boldly give life to our voice and ideas, we can begin to inspire others to make a lasting difference in the world -- through innovation, connection, communication, collaboration, education, empowerment and engagement.

For the past two years I have been actively involved in clean energy and sustainable development initiatives between the US and China and am actively seeking ways to stay engaged in international development. In my spare time I write about heart-based leadership and empowerment via my personal blog and am currently working on a book project focused on passing on the legacy of leadership from one generation of women to the next, written from a truly global perspective.

My Passions:
I am a passionate advocate for my two children, global literacy, gender equality, leadership/empowerment, and sustainable global development.

My Challenges:
Working to overcome the challenge of 'leaning in' to and (re-)developing my career as a single mom.

My Vision for the Future:
A world in which we are able to create sustainable communities and enterprises and one in which women have equal access to education, healthcare and economic opportunity, empowered to live their own voice out loud and become leaders in their own lives.
