The Capacity Building for Community Leaders (CBCL) Program is an intensive 4-week training designed to build the leadership and advocacy skills of community leaders and actors across all sectors. To enhance their collaborative skills, assess their programs and projects, develop new ways of working with stakeholders to co-create communities and societies that are socioeconomically just, inclusive and resilient where violence cannot thrive against individual persons or groups of people.
The course utilizes various learning approaches and styles. The program is rooted in participatory and inquiry-based learning. The restoration of human dignity, critical consciousness, transformative change processes, social justice, and centers the voices of communities and the individuals who make up communities in the process of social change and transformation.
Sponsorship for this program is made possible through the support of The Center for Building Resilient Communities (CBRC) and their partners. However, there are limited spaces, and admission is a competitive process. Students must complete additional admissions requirements in the form of an essay and or other requirements as stipulated during the registration process.

Theory of change.
Target audience - This course is for Community Leaders; Individuals who are actively engaged in advocacy and provide leadership at the community level; Emerging Leaders and Advocates; Any person who wants to enhance their decision-making skills.
Participants must have at least six months of experience in Social Justice work and Violence Prevention.
Registration - May 31st, 2020 at 8:30 AM EST to June 19th, June 2020 at 11:30 PM EST (No applications will be accepted after the registration deadline).

Certificates of Completion - will be issued to every participant who successfully completes the entire program.
