Connecting with Marginalised Communities through Cow Project

I am working for women empowerment & rural development in Pune District, Maharashtra State, India through DISHA organization. With support of RCPN, Pune  - Rotary Club of Poona North, we are creating sustainable livelihood for women farmers and their families. We are providing financial support to women for cow purchasing and guiding them for income generation through Dairy work. At present through this project, we have supported 300 women and their families. And coming year we will reach to more 400 women and their families for economic and social empowerment.

I am learning lot from women groups and farmer's communities from villages. In last 2 years I have visited more than  100 villages and met thousands of families. During survey work I have listened their stories, sufferings and also moments of happiness.

I am happy and connected for being part of lives of number women and their families.

Here i am sharing my one poem, which is focusing about my experience of cow project.

DISHA Rotary Cow Project has given me opportunity to work for women empowerment, rural development, for social cause and humanity, for me it is a Journey of exploring and understanding all. 

*Journey*

It is a journey of understaing people.

It is a journey of reaching to unreached.

It is a journey of caring special children.

It is a journey of loving neglected girls.

It is a journey of standing for youth.

It is a journey of empowering women.

It is a journey of listening aged.

It is a journey of working with vulnerables. 

It is a journey of opening hearts for needy.

It is a journey of building trust among team.

It is a journey of creating bond of friendship.

It is a journey of walking above caste, class and religion.   It is a journey of celebrating togetherness.

It is a journey of sharing happiness with all.

It is  a journey of becoming  me to we.
