Pan cake
Pan cake, the easy and fun way.

I started this initiative in January 2020. It is an online school where I teach women how to cook healthy food for themselves and their families. Men too do show interest and during the first session from January to March 2020 I had 3 men out of the 20 members who subscribed.  During the second session,  I had 23 subscribers who were only women.  The lessons are taught via whatsapp.  I post recipes and videos of how some of these foods are prepared. The third session will begin tomorrow. August to October 2020.

How many people have you impacted since your last update?

Many women are very appreciative of this initiative and it is a basic and most important step of peace building. Many women get into trouble with their husbands because they are unable to cook good food. We all know this. I am doing this to safeguard peace in many homes by helping women to get more cooking tips.

It is sad but true that in many African households nurturing the family is the sole job of the woman, and is almost demanded of them by their spouses in some instances.
Good on you for giving them tools to preserve peace in the home.

Hello, Geraldine,

Wow! Great job, dear. You’re so creative for using WhatsApp as a medium to train women and men. I love that 3 men joined your class because cooking should learned by all gender.

God bless you on your third cooking batch! I’m proud of you.

Dear Geraldine
It's with pleasure I read your write-up. It's so nice to learn what you can do and how many women you have impacted so far. Please think of mainstreaming disability. We can talk more on disability inclusion.I look forward to reading more from you

Chere Geraldine,
Merci de partager votre initiative. Je crois que c'est un bel exemple d'améliorer les relations de genre.
Courage.

Dearest Sinyuy Geraldine,
For the first time I have found a sister who is interested in cooking and sharing cooking tips. Food is art, food is love, food is comfort, food is health, food is home. Food is much more than what is served on the plate and eaten. I am delighted by the pancakes you have made and your classes on healthy food. Well done!
Love,
Urmila Chanam

Hello Sister Urmila, thanks so much for appreciating my cookery ideas and the fact that I share the recipes with others. Yes, I love cooking because it has much more than food. It's a bond, and I'm happy you love it. We may share ideas is you want.
Lots of love. I closed the third session at the end of October. I give it a halt for now.
Love,
Geraldine
