The Education of Young Girls Will Go a Long Way to Reduce Gender Based Violence

Education is the key to many things. When we leave our girls ignorant of any kind of knowledge, we're not doing our generation and those yet to come any good. Lack of education lands our young girls into many problems and they become victims of forced and early marriages coupled with many other social ills such as girl trafficking and prostitution. When we educate our girls, they'll be able to stand for themselves and say "NO" to any practice that does not suit or favour their progress. So my vision for a world without violence is a world where all girls are given the right to both formal and informal education.

Hi Geraldine,

How are you doing? Thanks for sharing your post, and I totally agree with you. Do you have an NGO that educates and empowers women? If so, please tell us all about it. I would love to know more about it.

If you meant to submit this for the current "A World Free of Violence," call for stories, please make sure that you submit it under this link to ensure inclusion, "https://www.worldpulse.com/en/voices-rising/story-awards/89332."

Good luck, and have a good/safe day, dear.

Dear Geraldine,
Welcome to WorldPulse! I agree strongly that one of the most important things that needs to happen is that every girl have the right to education globally, and that yes, this is the way to provide a different future to girls who become victims of forced marriages and sex trafficking. It is so good to know that you are there, teaching. I see from your bio that you are also a protector of the earth and proponent of organic farming. I share these passions with you. Within WoldPulse you will find many of us outspoken on environment concerns as well.
In sisterhood,
Tam

I agree with you that girls' education will go a long way towards reducing gender-based violence; because when the girl is informed no one can not renounce these rights or to destroy it but because of the non information the girl is always victim; thank you for sharing with us; I encourage you a lot of continues the fight because you do not alone we are numerous. good luck in your projects

Indeed ignorance leads to destruction and death; girls should have access to formal and informal education without any hinderances.
