It is better to create self-sufficient school

We know that we don’t live in a perfect world. To take just one example, all children wherever they live, and no matter how poor their families, deserve a high quality education. Yet in many developing countries governments just can’t or won’t cover the cost of providing this.

The fact is, generating sufficient income from business activities to cover the operating costs of running a school is hard - but it can be done!

Most individuals involved in education and development work will have had little first-hand experience themselves of running a profitable business. This can make the idea of setting up a school business units quite scary. Moreover it increases the chance of making basic mistakes which could have easily been avoided.

But we need to get in touch with expert to help make the process little less scary and give you the confidence to get started generating  income for your school.

Hi Jill,
Hello,
Greetings from Rural Women Initiative for Peace and Development!
Well, I would like to thank you for your kind advise and I still look forward for more information regarding funding opportunities for women organizations especially in Africa.

We have identified some potential funding organizations in USA and we are making some project proposals in skills training and micro business. Please, I would like to share with you one of our project proposals.

There is a charity in UK who give grants for building classroom but we can not apply for funding direct as such, we need to get in touch with a UK based international organization to vouch for funding on our behalf.
At the moment, we are looking for a partner organization in UK.
Please, I look forward to hearing from you again.
May the good Lord bless all your undertakings.
Thank you,

Silveria Ocen

Hello dear,

You're welcome. Do look regularly on the World Pulse "resources" page for funding opportunities: https://www.worldpulse.com/my-pulse/voices#pills-resources

Oh, I see. I can't think of anyone in the UK off the top of my head looking for collaborators in this sector but do look at the World Pulse "community" page and filter by what you're looking for. I hope it helps. Let me know if you need more guidance, and good luck with your funding and initiative.

Hope you have a great week!
