Believe in yourself

The strongest and the most powerful thought is to believe in oneself. What others think and presume cannot change your capability and the ability , it might bog you down for a while ,but ultimately as fragrance of a flower cannot be caged,so your qualities can't be either.

As a woman you might succumb to several pressures or feel guilty of walking on a path lesser traveled or chosen, yet believe in yourself and your dream to walk forward and live the moments which bring happiness and liveliness in your life.

Every corner of the world has a kind of inhibition when a woman leads ,but it takes one small step of faith and this turns to be a giant leap. Whether the wagging tongues or hypocritic minds support your work or not, these will tend to stop once you are unaffected by their words.

There was a poem by Maya Angelou called" I rise ". I catch the first line and create a new verse out of it.

"You may write me down in history

On pages white with colourful assumptions

Yet I will not abhor

Or err

Neither scream or yell

But paint in true words my nomenclature

You can be anyone

who bogs me down

While I soar high on clear clouds in azure;

But

my flight is destined

And I have the courage to flap

my wings stronger

Like the intrinsic art of an artist’s expression

I shall glow as a sparkled jewel

Even when lying in the gravels of nature

You may write me down in history

I will still shine in golden splendor."

Dear Alice,

Thank you so much . Every woman is an inspiration to another in some or the other way, we just have to identify the essence of our presence.

Wonderfully said Lisac!

Yes, like an eagle we need to free the thoughts from the shackles of narrowmindedness and limitations that have bonded women in not being free. It is therefore needed to acquire those wings of an eagle.

Dear Soumya,

Your poem is beautiful, and soothed my heart. It is so true, in so many different ways, in so many corners of the world women are put down for taking leadership. I love your image "as fragrance of a flower cannot be caged, so your qualities can't be either". What a lovely message. Even when we have learned many times over to trust ourselves, as we take make bigger and bigger dreams come it helps to be reminded by a sister who flies over barriers on the golden wings she has grown, to trust ourselves all the more deeply as we go.

With love in sisterhood,

Tam
