Empowering Women through Tech

Since 2013, the year when I joined WorldPulse , it has been a continous  learning process till today in 2020.  A journey full of knowledge and exploration in the world of digitalization.

Women , although are still lesser in percentage compared to men in terms of using internet and other technological advances of web,yet , they have found out ways to enhance their knowledge , empower themselves with  resources  to grow beyond their own expectations and touch the sky of higher horizons.

With online courses, business networking techniques  to using social media spaces and digital mediums for reaching out to people and gaining new technological skills , the use of Internet has provided an impetus for young minds as well as old ones. Whether you are in your teens or in 70’s doesn’t matter, the zeal and interest for learning should be alive and it makes one mentally strong to face and adapt in the world of fast change. We are not left behind and yet remain connected to our roots because of the values, morals and philosophy of life.

Women being an integral and most important part of society are the True Changemakers, who can bring a revolution and take forward the whole of mankind in terms of progress. They can emulate, emancipate their own fears and instill the greater norms of being  aware , knowledgeable  yet remaining compassionate .

Technology has played a vital role in my life and working style . It added flair, speed, perfection, foresightedness, research, aspects, surveys , growing my  connections to my field of work finally  helping me improvisation by changing my techniques.

I remember, we hardly knew what was Whatsapp in 2012 and today 80% of the official task, assignments , jobs, discussions ,decisions are taken in whatspp messages and calls, disembarking the boundaries of countries or regions.

Being in  variedly distinct fields of ARTS , CINEMA & SCIENCE ,I found technology and the digital power  to be more beneficial , facilitating my performance in every way.

Something which we all have missed or probably haven’t got then back in 80’s 90’s i.e the power of connect, power of expression, power of reaching out to millions in seconds. It sets us free , it helps in acknowledging and learning more with interactions. We learnt to be more kinder and compassionate , when we read stories on WorldPulse about sisters from various countries. Every one has their own distinct problems and setback, the stories of courage, survival, fighting back with patience and raising a voice in times of tragedies or crisis has made the digital space more vocal, safer and collaborative. It has surely made us more humane.

Varied platforms in digital space as  Skype,Zoom and Google meeting rooms  opened up new avenues and spaces for conducting classes for women, children who aren’t able to go and attend the normal classes or travel and join any formal school , program or institute.

With large number of Social Media platforms  as Facebook, twitter, Instagram, Helo, one gets the opportunity to reach out to larger audiences or people of similar interest in form of community, group, individual , company depending on the kind of interaction and reach desired.

The voice raised  in one corner of a world gets unified with thousands and becomes a reason for a giant movement of change. This is the power of tech. It breaks and eradicates the negatives of mental, social dogmas and geographical boundaries to help us empower.

Although , there has to be  a sense of  alertness  and some precautions are needed to be taken while dealing in the virtual world of socializing, communication or  business. We gradually learn and understand these things and make ourselves attuned to the system.

During these hard times of COVID19, it is the technology that has saved us from falling into the abyss of depression and the social connections through tech have helped us in remaining sane while also entertaining us and keeping us updated about the current situation in world.

Internet has revived all passions, art of the dying culture and traditions and also re imbibed in us our old interests and hobbies.

Working in a digital space and handling work sitting at one place , internet has helped me in multiple manifolds in my projects in various aspects . I can very well say and admit, internet and technology has transformed and empowered me beyond imagination and has made me more interactive, open, strengthened my networking skills, improved my business, honed my skills,  braced me with many mechanisms and updated me with the latest of all it has to offer.

From film production to managing proposals for newer projects, from setting up industries or designing furnaces and creating a market base, from using my favourite app of blog to record a song, I feel delighted with this digital transformation of age.

Here are few apps, services, sites, which I often use, have a look you all may become passionate in learning  and using them merely for  yourself or  your work.

Dear Soumya,
So empowering and validating to read about your journey into World Pulse and as well, all that the internet offers us. The wide look at how we can now together "bring a revolution and take forward the whole of mankind". I so agree that by reading stories on World Pulse we are able to be aware of and include all of the changes necessary, for freedom for all of us, and that we are able to explore and find so many different ways to connect. Your list is so helpful. A reminder for those I have not had the time to explore, and there are many I have not known about. Great photo of you, too!
In sisterhood,

Hello my dear Sister Soumya,
How are you and good to read this here and yes I remember connecting with you long ago and forgive me if I am mistaken. I love to read stories of how women are transformed by technology especially women outside of USA. Being a traveler I am in awe of the unfortunate situations and circumstances that has befallen women in less developed countries and as the countries are being developed unfortunately dishonest horrible male led societies are the big issues here.

Yes it is very empowering that innovation and technology has helped us leap and soar to greater possibilities and you outlined quite a few to inspire us all.
Thank you my dear Sister in spirit, faith and empowerment.
Let's keep soaring and inspiring. Each one teach one works for us all!
Thanks for sharing my dear,
sincerely,
Queen
