Is Quarantine a Quagmire?

First of all, in India, we're under self-isolation (lockdown) and not under a quarantine. We need to get our terms right before spewing them out thoughtlessly.

So how does this affect us with the entire nation under a standstill? The economy is hit, GDP is at an all time low, entertainment avenues shut indefinitely. Basically all our leeway centers are inaccessible.

What do we do?

This is one of the greatest coincidental boon offered to us. We can completely revamp and focus on ourselves. The locus behind me writing this article is to propagate some techniques which you could use or are already using from shifting your attention from the paranoia the entire world is facing. Now one must remember I'm not allegedly supporting the tempting ignorance, just that we be calm for while.

So you could rekindle your inner child into action by playing games, pampering yourselves at home, taking a walk in the terrace or the balcony with the nature. You could have those mindful conversations with friends and family which you'd thought of doing ages ago but had completely slipped off your mind. Your chance at becoming fit as a fiddle is right in front of you. Download the fitness app or the yoga app and practice them unconditionally.

Most importantly, you need to be calm, you can achieve this by simple five minute guided meditation and thinking of nothing and be aware of the little things around you. This situation is worrisome, no doubt. However there's no need to worry when you follow all the precautionary steps.

I can understand the itching urge to step out of the house and breathe out the toxicity but remember the lethal virus is on the prowl and we need to conscientious of not letting it get to us and others. The future of the world is at stake and we must do everything that's possible to be patient till our saviors : the doctors to find a cure.

A special gratitude to the doctors, nurses and social workers who've worked tirelessly to make this earth a place to breathe a second longer. Without you guys, we wouldn't be where we are.

And the women who slog their hearts out to make our homes a haven, love you so much sisters. You guys provided this 4-walled capsule a hearth and we are warm-fully grateful.

Stay safe, stay alive.

Toodles,

V
