Dear God: Thank You for Creating Women

Letter to The Creator

Dear Supreme Being,

I want to say Thank You for making me a Woman.

And not just a woman, but the woman I am, in spite of all my upheavals, my experiences, both negative and overwhelmingly positive.

I want to say a truly heartfelt Thank You, a resounding :"I am so grateful" for embedding in me a light that comes from the knowledge that I have a source of hope, that no abuser, no dysfunction, no poverty, no ills can ever dim or extinguish.

It's the glue that held me together when I was breaking into a thousand pieces unknowing to most.

I am thankful everyday for having been born a woman, for having been blessed to witness first hand and from distances, the strength of womankind. Our ability to weather storms, cry internally, battle for ourselves, our children, our communities, our causes and our countries.

Our resilience and innate courage to face issues that are often death defying, whether its abuse, political uprising, war, failed marriages, troubled children and the lists goes on.

I don't have to tell You why I am smiling. You know!

Remember I wished once I was a man.

Only when I wanted to be able to hit HIM back. But then I remembered if I were a man, I could not have borne my seven children, who were after You, God,  my foremost reasons for remaining in survival mode.

You gave them to me to safeguard. You chose to bless my womb when I was told that I had polycystic ovaries and may not have children.

Me!!

So I knew even in the midst of all my chaos that I had a divine purpose. I thank You, God for giving women wisdom.

It's that wisdom I pray You harness in me to keep me and guide me on my journey moving into 2020.

Help me to keep my light shining like a beacon of hope for others who are still suffering in silence.

And God, help me find favor with those who hold the key to making truly significant changes  wherever You would have me go. Bless  The ABA Movement (All for Bracelet Alerts) so that it may become the vehicle for legislative change to truly empower the abused and offer a first line of defence for victims of gender based and domestic violence.

The ABA Movement intends to see it made MANDATORY, in legislation, the implementation of GPS Tracking devices for abusers, a corresponding App alert for victims/survivors and rehabilitative counseling as a condition of bail. 

-I pray You send like-minded support and supporters.

Thank You God, as you continue to change our women into advocates.

 Oh God, give voices to those that lost their identities and voices to abuse, not only on a podium, but in governance and legislature.
