here is the original story:

On the 7th and 8th of May an IHEID team will be taking part attheGeneva Marathon. Some of us are keen runners whilst some of us will be struggling to make it to the finish line. Our goal is to raise awareness (and funds!) for the NGO “Maman Shujaa” (meaning “Hero Women of Congo”). It is based in the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to the UN the worst place in the world to be a woman. Their program "Keep Congolese Girls in School” provides girls withsani-pad kits and brasto enable them to stay in school as they reach puberty. In this way the project empowers young girls to pursue an education and boost their self-esteem and confidence. For more information, please visit: In the lead up to the marathon we will be organising several fundraisers for the charity and we depend on your support. You will be able to follow our progress on this page and you will be able to support us directly. Any donations are hugely appreciated, no matter how big or small. All money raised which will go directly toward sanitary kits that will enable young women to continue their education in Congo
