Dreams of Trespass

Dreams of Trespass: Tales of a Harem Girlhood by Fatima Mernissi was most enlightening to me as a person from the USA. Like many here I thought of women in a harem as those depicted in the old movies. Not so for this young lady in Morocco. While she lived a life of women in isolation and confinement in a beautiful residence, the women she talked about were amazing, creative and strong. A wonderful read full of wisdom and humor, judgmentalism and understanding.
