Song on Self Help Groups

(English translation of the Original Bengali version- created and tuned by Shri. Subrata Sarkar in the year 25/02/1996 in Sandeshkahali, Sundarban, West Bengal, INDIA, which was edited from the present perspective in 2017, 1st April, in Purulia, INDIA)

We shall form SHGs today,

And shall go for thrift and savings, to start business by taking loan

We shall ensure the repayment of the loan with both principle and interest.

We shall not go for savings only.

But we need to know the “modus operandi” for better utilization of the same,

Otherwise our livelihood would be at stake, because we would not get loan further from the Banks.

We would receive skill training in future, to improve our life and livelihood to a greater extent.

With the support from Government and Bank

We dream for a new world of “self reliance”.

Otherwise we would be pushed in to poverty trap again.

We would conduct regular meeting and must abide by the Group norms

We would be sincere enough to document the Group resolution.

We would do social activities as well, and would become environment friendly by ensuring intensive sanitation of our locality.

Otherwise we would not be self reliance at all.

We shall form SHG today----
