Wounded, lost and Bruised Lot

Wounded, lost and Bruised Lot

By: Sumera. B. Reshi

Look here, and look there

Look around, and everywhere

Everyone is lost in their virtual world

Some for love, and some for fun

In the offices, schools, and colleges

They’re lost in buses, and on roads

Walking, wounded, and bruised

To an anonymous land, they are moving

Indifferent, aloof and despised of the real world

Insensitive, offhand and heedless lot

Moving along an unknown path

Unmindful of the destination but on an aimless journey

They smile as if insane, they talk as if imprudent

Quite naïve, mindless and inane of the ambience,

In clusters, guys and gals, young and old

Busy in chats, calls, voice notes and photos

Unaware of the human feelings and sentiments

All are lost in virtual reality, far off from the real world

Unmoved, impervious, unresponsive and careless,

All walking like a zombie movie of yesteryears

As if aliens from celestial space have bit them all

Not to suck the blood but to take emotions out of their heart

Look here, and look there

Look around, and everywhere

With heads down and eyes focused,

Only fingers are at work

As if they have lost all the sense, except the sense of touch

Look at fathers, look at mothers, all are busy in their own world.

All are sleep, delusion and fantasies,

Unaware of the real world and human bond.

Wounded, distressed and bruised they walk

To an anonymous world do they march.

Look here, and look there,

They all are lost, lost completely lost.
