Introducing myself and my journal: Through My Eyes

About Me:
I am a 29 year old woman working as a reporter. I have a four year old daughter and I live with her father. I enjoy reading and writting, although I dont get many opportunities to write what is in my heart. I write passionately on health especially HIV/AIDS and maternal health. I have written about women giving birth on the way to the hospital, women scarred for life physically and emotionally because they could not reach the hospital on time.

I have made it my mission to inform as many people about the challenges women in my country face when accessing simple health care because they are too poor to live in town where there are hospitals.

My Passions:
Writting about issues on health and problems faced by rural women

My Challenges:
Writting about such a 'soft' issue as health is not taken seriouly at my work place so I get very few opportunities to do what I love.

My Vision for the Future:
I would like to see my country provide better services to pregnant women and young babies by building more clinics in rural areas and providing qualified health personnel. I would like through my work to influence policy changes and make a difference

My Areas of Expertise:
I have good knowledge of the HIV/AIDS and health situation in my country
