Becky Lee, a young leader and catalyst for change in the fight against domestic violence, is the driving force behind Becky’s Fund, a cutting-edge nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC that instigates social transformation and provides public service to the battered and abused. Becky first became aware of the tragedies of domestic violence in her junior year at the University of Michigan when she heard a lecture by an attorney who specialized in acquitting battered women imprisoned for killing their abusers in self- defense. The impact of this lecture on Becky resulted in her dedicating her life and career to addressing the social, cultural and legal barriers that entrap domestic violence victims.

Becky received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Women’s Studies from the University of Michigan and then continued on to receive her Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. In 2006, Becky participated in NBC’s Survivor and used a portion her winnings as second runner-up to launch the domestic violence awareness nonprofit that she still runs today. An avid competitive sports enthusiast, Becky worked as a kickboxing instructor for over six years with a focus on helping battered women regain their confidence and self-esteem through her classes.

Becky has toured the country building programs, running workshops, giving lectures and launching training sessions to raise awareness, encourage advocacy, prevent domestic violence, and create support for individuals and families suffering from intimate partner violence. To date, Becky’s work has been featured in The Huffington Post, the Washington Business Journal, Politico, Washington Life Magazine, WUSA9, and NBC Washington.
