My Journey

I am Mary Sonia Madiki from India. My father was born in a poor Dalit family. It is considered as a untouchable caste in India .Despite of severe harassment, assault, discrimination and other criminal acts he studied well and became a solicitor and a good leader in his community.Since his young age he became the voice of the oppressed and made many agitations for the rights of the lower caste groups and poor. my father used to made relentless battle for casteless society and economic empowerment of rural women irrespective of caste or religion. Since my child hood I participated in all these activities and I deeply observed the pitiable lives of the Indian rural poor I become a passionate for the deliverance of the oppressed. He is an atheist ,taught me the wonderful reformatory theories of the Abraham lincon Ambedkar, Mahatma, pooley, Swamy Vivekananda ,Nelson Mandela etc . I am home school student I finished my school studies under my father guidance and I completed my secondary school study at the age of 13. while I was 11 years old years it was happened to me to hear about the redeemer Christ I become a disciple of Christ and started loving the poor and needy. With the heart and my mind to help poor and to stand up for the poor and vulnerable and defend their rights I studied day and night for 3 years to clear the State Medical Entrance Exam and got free admission to study MBBS but at that time I am happily married to Vijaya Madiki who committed his life to do Lord's work .I am also interested in studying GOD's WORD so we both went to British Bible School Corby UK and finished our theological studies and returned back to India in 2004 to work in our own community. We wanted to live in a remote village to be among the poor and needy and helpful in whatever way we can for their upliftment. We are blessed with two sons ,samuel 11 and Paul 10. I came back to India in 2004 with a vision to transform India through women and children empowerment. My foot steps towards my vision I trust in the Principle of\" Deserve and Desire” .while I came back to India in 2004 I am only an- intermediate(10+2) student in secular study with a graduate diploma in Advanced Bible studies from UK. By 21 Years I found that India not suffering economical poverty but it is suffering a psychological poverty. Then I committed to become a practical psychologist with master degree. In 2005 I and my husband stated our family life among the poorest of the poor in a remote village Pavara. I decided to have an interaction with the rural women in India I started a many charity works to support pregnant women ,Poor children and old aged all these helped me to interact and study the Philosophy and Psychology of the India and I observed that India needs not the money but a Psychological transformation. Besides working among the women during the years 2005 to 2008 I completed my graduation (B.Sc Psychology) and during the years 2008 to 2012 done my post -graduation in MSc Psychology and M.S Psychotherephy to treat the Psychological imbalances of the human beings while I travelled among the women I found that many families were being ruined only because of small mis understandings and misconcepts then I decided to be a professional in Dispute resolution During the year 2012-13 I completed P.G diploma in alternative dispute resolution(ADR) from the National aw university NALSAR, Hyderabad. I also needed legal knowledgeto deal with the issues and I am also studying the Law .For a decade I studied the Indian society and found that India is not suffering from economical poverty but being clutched in the evil traditions .It was suffering from psychological diseases, Bondage of women is the root cause of all the evils of the India. Especially in my community women are not allowed to go out for work ,they are restricted to only household works even though the family is starving to death.I personally witnessed many suicides, dowry deaths,Domestic violence etc.Their men are mostly alcohol addicts. They can't provide proper diet or education for their kids especially girls are discontinuing their studies and are forced to child labour. For the last decade I advocated 1000’s of women and men about of the necessity of freedom for Indian women and their economic empowerment .In December 2015 I started a women project know as SWAN.As a counselling Psychologist, I and my team encouraged many women about the importance of women work ,girl child education, and conducted many awareness camps and personal counsellings for both men and women about the importance of knowledge of national time and regarding idle work culture and bondage of women. We succeeded in bringing a change in the mindsets of our community people and broke this social evil to a certain extent. My family is a best support system for me and with the help of the local social workers and some Christian friends abroad I am able to move forward in my journey. My work of last decade becoming fruitful most of the women who are advocated by SWAN are now willing to work at their villages to empower themselves . These women need vocational training and skills that are helpful for them all in their villages. I am searching for the reformatory philanthropic persons and organisations who are interested in women economic empowerment, to work for the noble mission. These women need start up funds so that they can work in groups and can earn for themselves and their families. Thank you for going through my words patiently .I am a passionate women who dedicated my life for the upliftment of these weaker sections in our community.Thank you.
