Join the Women's Regional Network in a Discussion!

World Pulse and The Women’s Regional Network invite you to be part of a very exciting initiative that aims to take the pulse of Women in South Asia.

We are conducting a survey on the impact of security and corruption on women in the region to better inform our work and we want you to participate. The results of the survey will be used to help inform a planning meeting in Nepal in September that will set the agenda and framework for the larger Summit in 2012.

What Is The Women's Regional Network?
International development and security experts have come to recognize the need to include women in any dialogue on peace, enhanced stability, and economic and social development to increase the success of these efforts. A new initiative, The Women's Regional Network, is in development, focused on how best to facilitate women's inclusion and contributions to discussions of stability and security in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. The focus of this initiative is to help raise awareness and promote the efforts of women in South Asia.

The Women's Regional Network plans to build the necessary relationships, networks and influence to ensure women's concerns and voices are included in the highest levels of dialogue. This project proposes to hold a Women's Regional Summit within the next 12-18 months to bring women leaders from South Asia together with women advocates and supporters from around the world. The focus of this effort is to forge enduring and productive relationships among women in South Asia; identify shared concerns and challenges; engage a network of global champions who support these women to meet their personal and organizational challenges with greater resiliency.

What We Need From You:
We invite you to join us in an exploratory discussion around security and corruption in your region, and we seek your advice to help us structure the larger survey. Once we have your input, we can structure a more in-depth survey to advise our work and build a comprehensive report to guide our work for the Summit. Once the larger survey is created, we hope that you can share it with your friends, family and network to be sure we’re including a broad range of women’s voices from Afghanistan, India and Pakistan. We invite you to participate in the following steps:

3. Contribute to the group journal, answering the following discussion questions:

   Please define the word “transparency” and how it applies to your life.
   Please define the word “fairness” and how it applies to your life.
   Please define the phrase “social injustice” and how it applies to your life.
   Please define the word “corruption” and how it applies to your life.




4. Read the journals from other group members and provide feedback through comments.




5. Based on your feedback from the intake survey and journal discussions, we will conduct a larger survey focused on security and corruption.




6. Share the larger survey with your friends, family and networks.




7. Be honest and respectful, you can choose to stay anonymous.

We hope to see you in the group as we seek your knowledge and experience as a leader in your region.
