What World Pulse Means to Me

World Pulse means everything to me. This is because freedom from violence and suppression of women and girls across this planet means everything to me. For years I have been working in my country to stop the violence, only dreaming that this could be, might be, has to be global. When I opened this website I was astonished and thrilled to discover that World Pulse is and always has been built on women’s stories, stories from all over the world, stories of what we have been through, stories of what we are doing about it. By reading, I fast became so much more educated, and so deeply encouraged that we are truly everywhere working to make change happen. It took me awhile before I realized to my astonishment that I could become a member! And an Encourager. I became both on the same day. This has kept me reading regularly, and by responding to stories, joining in on a monumental internal discussion filled with a precious and powerful web of public and private discussions, brainstorming, collaborating and simply loving, cherishing and celebrating each other, and celebrating our chance to know each other through this Site. World Pulse has broadened my thinking of what is possible. It has given me the chance to work globally and it has strengthened my voice locally and nationally. It has inspired me to work in bigger ways and with more optimism that truly, now is our time, and we are here to do this in our lifetime. Through World Pulse, we now have each other, and we are powerful in ways we have always known down deep to be possible. Let's keep weaving this web.
