My name is Tanya Daud and I am a Storyteller. My background was in Journalism and Filmmaking before I Founded QISSA' GO three years ago. A theatre collective which is focused on literature and languages from South Asia.
In 2012, I had also founded Aleph Collective, which is the parent body of all initiatives and is based on creating awareness amongst communities, groups & individuals, as well as conflict resolution using a variety of mediums.
We are based in the UAE right now but our focus of work on both counts is centred on South Asia and the diaspora, or as in the latter's case, also extended to the Muslim world at large.
This year we are bringing all our programming under Aleph Collective and are working to put together a festival in May 2020.
Develop a pan-South Asian outlook. Discuss/work on issues of importance in the region. Put out our own narrative. And, more!
I am looking to build a team for the festival as there is a lot to be done and find grants + sponsors, who can help further our work.
Help prep for interviewing journalistic/film subjects, provide insight into South Asian content, and even provide contacts where possible.
