Dear Readers and Fellow Activists,

I am very excited to present you with a new tool that should enhance your advocacy work. Some of our colleagues (Global Fund for Women, Mama Cash, Association of Women In Development, Catapult, Association of Progressive Communications) got together and decided to create a digital campaigning tool.

The result is Manifesta, a new project that allows your organization and its members or individual activists, to create, and manage campaigns on women’s human rights and gender justice, with the technology they need at their fingertips.

Your efforts to make change can be big or small, even heroic, but always in the interest of those most marginalized. Manifesta is about power to the people. If you have an idea to achieve gender justice and make your community, the local school, playground, or the planet a better place for all genders, Manifesta can help. You provide the cause and Manifesta provides the tools to gather, organize, and demand action.

Here’s how it works.

A campaigner (you or a member of your constituency) creates a petition on Manifesta, with as much assistance as you need to get it started.

The campaigner recruits others through their networks to sign the petition and encourages them to share the petition broadly. In this way, you are building momentum.

Manifesta amplifies the petition by sending it out to thousands of its members around the world. They respond and create more buzz by using Manifesta’s communication tools to motivate their community and meet the campaign target.

Manifesta is currently available in 4 languages: French, English, Spanish and Portuguese.

At Manifesta, we can do much more for you! Visit our website and ask us questions.  We promise to respond to all of them. But before you go, we want to tell you something very important. We get asked a lot how much it costs to start a campaign? Well, how about nada, zilch, zero!!!! Using the Manifesta website is totally free! It all begins with your first campaign!

Oh, My God, I love meeting people named Tata. When I was growing up no one had that name and everyone thought it was a nickname. I was my grandmother's namesake so I could not complain as it would mean disrespect to her. To make a long story unbearable, I used to dislike it now I love my name.
So fellow Tata, let me tell you about Manifesta and how it came to be. A few women human rights organizations got together and decided that the feminist world needed a free organizing tool that was solely dedicated to feminist issues. Manifesta was born. It is new, it is innovative and it is made for us women who believe in equality and women human rights.
Using the platform is so very simple. Here’s how it works.
You create a petition on Manifesta, with or without our help.
You recruit others to join your cause through your networks.
They sign the petition and share it broadly.
Voila! You started a campaign! But there’s more!
Manifesta amplifies your Campaign/Petition by sending it out to thousands of its members around the world.
They respond and create more buzz for your issue by using Manifesta’s communication tools to motivate their community meet the campaign target, and get even more signers.
If you have an idea you would like to talk through or help to create a campaign, just email me at tata@manifesta.net
