MY Journey

\"Young
Young girls inspired through mentorship and training.

I am Tebi Honourine. I come from a rural community of the North West Region of Cameroon. From a family of eight, father and Mother all subsistence Farmers. I could be identified amongst those whom life has not been favorable to, but with my push factor of always putting on positive thoughts and getting myself to action, I am gradually changing the page of my life from Unfavorable to favorable, not to become the best person in the World but to become my best.

I would say my journey of life began in 2012. I got involved into civil Society organizations immediately I had my diploma in Project management monitoring and evaluation from the Pan African Institute for Development. I volunteered with Better World Cameroon and voluntary Service Oversea (VSO). In 2014/2015 I had a paid job with Society for Initiative in Rural Development and environmental protection (SIRDEP). I did carryout activities on administrative assistant, education, environmental protection, micro finance and economic empowerment.

I developed from volunteering to a young professional in Women and youth economic empowerment and also inspire single mothers to unblock their potentials to do something that will help put food on their table. I have gained experience in implementing and managing development projects focusing on improving livelihood, building capacities and ensuring good leadership skills for the less privileged children.

Currently, I am mentoring 75 young girls and boys in creative thinking, transformative Literacy and dynamic mentorship of the HerStory Initiative Program of LitWorld and Global GLOW for young girls with World Vision for Education and Development (WVED). In Cameroon, there is the problem of unemployment, limited awareness on job opportunities and also limited education on sexual reproductive health right.

I am passionate about creating job opportunities for youths and to inspire single mothers take action in providing quality education and training for their children through training and mentorship opportunities. Presently, I create partnerships with other Civil Society organizations, government institutions to accept candidate for interview during their recruitment process in their institution. I update their CV's and forward to this institutions. 5 young girls are benefiting from this opportunity.

In order to foster my passion.I need financial support, so that I can give as startup capital to some youths and single mothers who are interested to start up small businesses which will be invested as a micro loan which will be ‘Passed Over’ to others after a period of time.
