Blind Women Empowerment Training Program

One of my long vision is to create inclusion for blind women. In Indian scenario, it is highly impossible. Still my inner thought told me that “if there is a will there is a way”. For years and years blind women are confined within the four walls of their home and they are not allowed to venture out due to lack of awareness from the parents side and due to their disability.

I strongly need this scene to be changed and wished that every blind woman should be empowered in terms of education and job.

That is how, I found a solution and started the women empowerment training programme for the blind.

With great difficulties we overcame all the obstacles and started this program to support the blind women community.

There are so many good hands that joined hands with me in this journey and still continuing this support.

As a blind women I knew, what are the problems faced by blind women practically.

Based on that, I included self defence classes, vocational training classes, seminars on rights and legal issues for disabled women, health awareness classes especially classes on self hygiene and menstrual issues in the empowerment training program.

I am so happy to share this information to the world pulse sisters that this has became a successful project and it has turns that life of numerous blind women in my state in a positive sphere.

Most of the blind women are giving the feedback that this training program has empowered themselves and to live independently and therefore creating way for inclusion.

It gave me a confident and believe that “When women are united and empowered, what ever the barriers may be will break into pieces and there will be complete inclusion”.
