Welcome to the Leadership group. We are excited to have you as a member of this dynamic community, and a part of this journey together! We look to YOU to help us create a space that provides the resources, information, connections, and tools that you need to transform your communities. Help guide us by sharing your thoughts on how to make this a powerful gathering place for you and other grassroots women leaders around the world! Add your perspectives as a comment on this post.

- What do you want from this group? What possibilities do you see?

-What are the leadership issues that matter most to you? (Ex: leadership training and opportunities, women's leadership locally and globally, different types and styles of leadership)

-What types of resources and stories inspire and engage you? (Ex: current events, tool kits, interviews, World Pulse community member stories, etc.) We invite you to share links to examples that inspire you (from our site or anywhere around the Web).

-What is happening in your community around leadership that we should know about? Are there active campaigns to support and promote women's leadership? Individuals or organizations creating the conditions for women's leadership? Governments and community organizations who recognize the type of leaders you believe in most?

- What does leadership mean to you?

Your answers will help us build our resources, this group and the Leadership topic page.

Hello Tiffany,

Thank you for being a Community Champion for this group. Momentum is building, in such large part through our connections with each other through WorldPulse, for a whole new level of leadership in how to finally put freedom for women in place, globally. There are many more websites and groups formed now than ever before, with the specific goal of freedom, safety and respect for women. I hope that through this Leadership group, that we will find a way to create the strength in our global voice to really usher in a new paradigm. I see this in part, as creating global actions that happen at the same moment (or, 24 hour period without interruption). I look forward to our collective planning.

Tam!  So glad you've joined the leadership group!  I like your idea of using this group to gather strength together as we usher in a new paradigm.  What ideas do you have for global actions that happen at the same moment? I love this idea!  Please share more...

I love to hear the stories of women who are making differences in their communities, both from the women who write about them, to hearing from the women themselves. I think it is one of the best ways to understand how many solutions exist and how they can be put into action around the world. Women's voices are varied and strong, and the more we hear them, the more they become an understood force for change!

Leslie -  so glad you're in the group.  Welcome, welcome.  We look forward to getting to know you.   I'm curious....any stories of women leaders that resonate with you, personally (perhaps even from your own life)?

Hena -

Welcome!  So glad you are here and part of the group.   Please tell us more about yourself!  What kind of women's empowerment work are you involved with currently?  What kind of issues do you see arising for women leaders?  What are you experiencing, yourself?  We would love to hear and to get to know you.

I believe that what philospher/theologioan Hans Kung says is true:

“No peace among the nations without peace among the religions.

No peace among the religions without dialogue between the religions

No dialogue between the religions without investigation of the foundation of the religions.”

― Hans Küng, Christianity: Essence, History, Future

I have been invited to act as an ambassador to the Parliament of the World's Religions, in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA October 15-19, 2015 http://www.parliamentofreligions.org/

I have already been a listener, on a very small scale, for this organization. I would like to use my position as World Pulse listener to bring together the voices of women of religion and spiritual beliefs. I see this as an opportunity to bring these voices of women from 190 countries to the Parliament with me.

I would love for our leadership group to create a program and submit a proposal for a program to the parliament.  http://www.parliamentofreligions.org/index.cfm?n=35&sn=3

Thank you so much for being such a blessing upon our shared earth.

Yvette -

Thanks for jumping up and making a suggestion for something we could do together in this group!  Yes!  It's a great idea to organize something for the Parliment.  I checked it out, and it looks like it will be fabulous.  What ideas do you have?  How do you see people in our group engaging with your idea?  How do you see connecting it to leadership? Let us know more!

Leadership for women is very critical. We need to be educated. We need information / resources, we need knowledge and experience to equip ourselves. That is to say, we need to be (em)powered. Power from within us and support from communities would assist women overcome the obstacles created by patriachy. Helping women overcome the powerless situations that hinder us from taking leadership in our communities is needed.

Exploring and knowing leadership styles will be quite helpful. I wish to learn the qualities that make a good leader.

Celine - thanks for bringing up the issue of power. For me, this is one of the reasons why the topic of leadership is so important. What do we do with our power? What does true power really look like? Also, great to have a specific suggestion of a topic to explore (exploring and knowing leadership styles). We'll look into this as a group! Fabulous suggestion. Stay tuned!

my idea is for the sale of breastmilk in the process of breastmilk what I'm suggesting is not just the bank but pretty much replacing all of how we get cows milk today there is a saying that goes mothers knows best well mother nature knows best she gave women the ability to make milk now I know everyone says its only for babies but if you look at cows only start producing milk when they have a baby and from that point on as long as theirs and extraction of the milk they will keep producing milk Oh same thing goes for women women can produce milk way in to menopause and still produce milk what I'm trying to say is I believe humans should be drinking human milk and not that of another species a species makes its milk for its own species that is my idea now milk banks have ways of processing the milk to filter out anything that come through the breast my idea is weird asylum but may make perfect sense to others and I hope people hear this idea and actually give it an honest try
