Betty Tshepiso Mokoena born to Deaf parents, currently based in the City of Cape Town, working for the South African Parliament as a South African Sign Language (SASL) Practitioner and a SASL News anchor for ETV.I studied South African Sign Language Linguistics at the University of Witwatersrand in 2000 subsequent to that transcribed and translated Deaf life stories of Gays and Lesbians in South Africa. I furthered my studies at Regenesys Business School completed Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management. In addition to that I have obtained different advanced certificates in Project Management, Presentation skills and Desmond Tutu Women in Leadership program. I have initiated various advocacy programs for the Deaf communities from 2001 to date. Officially founded Tshepiso Mokoena Foundation (TMF) in 2012, Board Member of Sign Language Education Development (SLED), and Co-Researched for the University of Cape Town on “Accessibility to Medical Health Care for Deaf people” in Cape Peninsula, South Africa. Advocating for change and utilising Media to raise awareness and to fight for the plight and rights of the Deaf communities of South Africa. This has been my passion and drive from the early days of 2001 at a very young age. Recipient of the 2013 Professional Fellows Distinguished Impact Alumni Award, commissioned by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.SDepartment of State. I am currently studying with the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women based in the UK, in the women in business mentorship program.

I want to further my studies in MBA however due to lack of financial resources or support my dream will not become a reality. Anyone out there who has information, I would appreciate if you could share. The current space I'm at right now restricts me to grow.
