About Me

Betty Tshepiso Mokoena born to Deaf parents, based in City of Cape Town, working for the Universith of Cape Town (UCT). I studied South African Sign Language Linguistics at the University of Witwatersrand in 2000 subsequent to that transcribed and translated Deaf life stories of Gays and Lesbians in South Africa. I furthered my studies at Regenesys Business School completed Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management. In addition to that I have obtained different advanced certificates in Project Management, Presentation skills and Desmond Tutu Women in Leadership program.

Founder of Tshepiso Mokoena Foundation (TMF) and Board Member of Sign Language Education Development (SLED). Recipient of the USA 2013 Professional Fellows Distinguished Impact Award, Mentee at the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women based in the UK: Women in Business Mentorship program. 2016 Loreal Paris Women of Worth Honouree.

My Vision

My Passions: Touching the lives of ordinary citizens with the aim of making a difference.


The support that I urgently require, is to access program that empowers women and girls with disabilties in Africa.
