Training session with American students
Training session with American students (1/3)

My name is Uche Linda Okpala. I'm a world pulse featured changemaker, Microsoft innovative Fellow 2020, Microsoft Master trainer 2017 -2020, Microsoft innovative educator expert 2018 - 2020, Skype Master teacher 2017 - 2020, National geographic certified educator, Global learning mentor, Wakelet ambassador, Flipgrid student voice ambassador, Wakelet community leader, Minecraft Global mentor, Flipgrid certified educator and ambassadors to various edu-tech tools and resources.  I'm a global teacher awardee, Won a scholarship to attend  global education exchange France - Paris 2019. I teach in Federal school in the Northern part of Nigeria.

I'm delighted to share my story about my events and outreach efforts.  I have a flare for technology which is now my second calling. I have been training people on how to be digitally literate or to become a digital/global citizenship as what I have passion for.  I was officially a Microsoft Master trainer since 2017 - till date.

As a teacher that I am, I have trained over (3,500) people both online and in-person on how to incorporates edu-tech tools and resources both in and outside their classrooms. The total people trained from February - July 2020 is seven hundred and fifty (715) click here to view the chart and the top 5 topics.    Total people trained from February - July 2020

 The topics/Products are as follows:

1. Productivity tools - Office 365: Ms Sway, Ms Teams, Ms OneNote, Ms Forms, Ms One drive etc.

2. Some of the edu- Tech tools are:

  • Wakelet
  • Skype in the classroom
  • Flipgrid

  • Kahoot
  • Nearpod
  • Sway
  • Ms Teams
  • Coding and programming
  • Augmented reality and virtual reality (AR & VR) etc.

3. Cultural diversity (The importance of culture in our lives) etc.

I want to start another outreach of in-person training to reach my authentic audience in remote areas. But still having challenges of devices, resources that would enhances, engages and  maximizes learning in more effective ways!

Understanding the constant evolution of the world we live in and how advanced technology is becoming daily, there is the need to match the advancement. Education shouldn't play catch up and taking that into consideration. My initiative promotes the sustainable development goal #4 quality education. We're campaigning for "Digital skills today... future ready tomorrow and impacting lives by imparting STE(A)M education. While our THEME is Bridging the gap of digital divide by integrating the 21st century learning skills.

As the government has eased lockdown and schools are reopening, I have created an initiative that will promotes and empower the  healthy digital citizenship across the globe. Not just as a teaching tools but a way to prepare people for a society full of technology as how to use the technology appropriately.

The ongoing global pandemic has disrupted many areas of our life, but perhaps few as dramatically as education with so many schools moving to remote or hybrid learning. Educators like me are among the many on the frontlines of COVID-19, working tirelessly to engage teachers and students in a socially distant world. I and my team are pioneering new ways to connect and inspire our authentic audience so they can continue learning, which is why I'm reaching out to you with this new opportunity, an emergency for World pulse digital Ambassador.

Thank you for have giving us this awesome opportunity to share my story, our story!!!
