About Me

Founder & Director of Breaking the Silence Worldwide Foundation, an organization focussed on menstrual hygiene management, family planning and sexual and reproductive health of adolescent girls and women in India and globally. The most profound aspect of our effort is the outreach, focus on rural regions and marginalised communities, working in partnership with the government of India at different levels, building leadership, empowering youth and women, use oftechnology/internet to scale experiences and learnings to a global online community and working with boys and men. What has the impact been like? I have been able to position menstrual hygiene, the harmful effect of myths, taboos and stigma around menstruation and shame around female bodies as an urgent social cause needing attention, policy and intervention since 2013 when I first began. I am also a rural journalist for print and radio and Shakti (power) Women's Healing and Safety Center is my next dream intervention.

My Vision

To bring about a world where girls and women in every part of India and the globe have good menstrual health
