A year end note

This is me today, mask and all due to Covid-19, writing a note for my World Pulse family from Bengaluru city in India, thoughts that have been dominant on my mind since the last few days. I hope they will make you think 'right about yourself' because we all need that now of all times with people losing jobs and economic slow down due to the pandemic. (1/1)

You have to think high about your calibre first before you can expect the world to recognize your ability to do things well or differently. It never happens that people are the ones who inform you what you do best rather its got to be you who demonstrates your leadership and skill. Today you may be in a position where no one acknowledges your contribution and worth, or in a humbling economic situation but it takes just a moment for life to change. We are often living in a belief that there are experts higher than us in every instance and we are afraid to take the leap or slip in the shoes of authority and it happens to me too often but one day, when I was awaiting expert opinion I released people around me were waiting for my opinion and I was the expert! That moment, realization and self awareness changed me forever. Till the time/day you are the expert in your eyes, success will elude you. Success means different things to different people but I can say one thing with surety, that unless you want to be successful and work towards it daily, its not coming your way. To have something, be it success, peace, spiritual awakening, work from your end is indispensable. If you want it, you will seek it and God once said that seeking is the most important prerequisite to acquiring what you seek. A struggling person is much more successful than one who has no dream and goals, a person who seeks evolution in mind, heart and spirit is much more successful than a closed heart who have given up on improvement. The day you stop limiting the extent you can go to out of your own fears of failing, that is the day you will discover your limit (lessness). Hope you will have a fantastic year- end celebration and a beautiful new year.

Sister Beth,
Girls in India are brought up feeling inferior and incapable. Sons of the house are trained on all aspects. From that cultural context, I wrote this advice to girls who grew up into women feeling unsure at important phases in their life. The unprecedented times we live in during Covid-19 have imposed unique challenges.
Much love and prayers,
Urmila Chanam
