Amazing! we are celebrating 100th women’s day but the sad thing is we women are not still safe in our home, in our community and in our nation and yes not safe worldwide.
I have very fresh memory of celebrating women’s day in past. During school days, in Falgun 25th (B.S.) /March 8th we used to have holiday. Being a student, I just used to rejoice the holiday but did not know the reason behind the holiday. But one thing that always struck in my mind is I used to feel like we girl are very - very special than boys so that holiday was only for we girl and sure this feeling still touches my heart and I feel we woman are special indeed.
On this auspicious occasion, this time I would like to dedicate my feelings, my respects to those who lost their life and who are battling to live due to cultural as well as domestic Violence.
Following are the very painful and striking examples, please for detail click the link:Gita Dhakal who was murdered and burnt by his police officer husbandhttp://www.neww.eu/en/news/news/1,5484,1.html3 daughters are brutally killed by father- http://www.nepalnews.com/home/index.php/news/19/16764-father-brutally-ki...An elderly women raped by a man-http://www.ekantipur.com/2011/12/09/national/man-rapes-elderly-woman/345...A Buddhist nun raped by a gang in public vehicle- http://www.mastinepal.com/thread54528.htmlJhuma devi ,40 found dead in chhaupadi ( a small shed made for keeping woman during menstruation and delivery)- http://maplop.com/go/news/woman-dies-in-chhaupadi.htmlThegani Devi,40, a widow brutally beaten and burnt alive by her relatives accusing witch-http://www.asianews.it/news-en/Nepali-widow-burned-alive,-accused-of-wit...
