THANK THE WORLD PULSE

I was at home, stuck in the routine of a woman who is retired, and the daily work of any housewife, who is hosting a long gestation niece, now his newborn daughter two months, being voluntary a newspaper printed with a quarterly circulation of 4,000 copies in City of God, doing some interviews for a community web radio, and volunteer working with young people, and in his spare time creating poetry, music and drawings ... It could!

I was here in Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro, did not know existed AWID, I had not even thought that my country would host the 13th AWID International Forum. Feminists future: Building Collective Power in favor of rights and justice. Costa do Sauipe, Bahia.

I received an email inviting me to follow another guiding me, then another with a translator Nana, and the host network was increasing. I began to feel safe with this invitation and willing to participate. World Pulse called me! I heard and I!

And I was! Salvador went to meet with the women's World Pulse. The World Pulse gave me the best gift of my life after my children. They, our sisters of World Pulse, Jasmine, Tiffany and Martha gave me feel safe, confident.

I I like both writing and little talk because of my shyness, I gained gift the ball in the world in a dynamic, played by a sister who was performing and caught in surprise, only spoke of the importance of giving voice to people speak its own history. Giving voice, but the person already has his voice! Giving voice is hear speech!

Each woman who sat next to me these days and we began a conversation, was born an interview. There were six interviews that begin to listen and share with you.

All brought stories of struggle, fiber, leadership.

The life stories of this wonderful women chose me before they become issues, this choice was subtle, with a smile, a tear or a gesture to voice become in my recorder.

I may have discovered something important that I can do pro World Pulse; interviews, listen to these and other women.

I know that now I am more World Pulse before I know it's not just a site that I can come to work, but a place where I, I can share my stories, promote tapping stories of other women.

This important step, where start walking beyond admiration for the people who do this work, I feel stronger, I know there needs to be greater democratization of technology services in the world.

What an internet best quality and free for people is needed, in addition to lower prices in technological equipment.

Again I see that education in my country to be taken more seriously, we need to give quality to this process, there must be a greater commitment to the quality of what is offered for children and young people. It is unacceptable in a globalized world terms only one language as a reference.

I saw, I heard people talking in this forum more than three languages and in Brazil barely learned our language, Portuguese. While there is no greater investment in quality and transfer of content to the people, the country lived enslaved underdevelopment.

We need to free our people from this power to take away the rights, knowledge and subtracts that favors a minority group of politicians.

I managed to get this far, and looks that could have gone much, much further ... Coming from a slum, being beaten, having few or no rights as a woman, was to be curious, stubborn, have a thirst for knowledge, it was by have a warrior in the chest. A warrior in genetics. An ancestor. I never saw her, but found it in every look, every story, every shared experience in this forum.

I appreciate the opportunity.

Thank you!
