Myself

I was born at a time when girls were frowned upon. We were told to be quiet , put ourselves last, be meek and adjust and compromise. I did it since basically I am a quiet and shy person. I got married and had all the freedom I wanted. I wrote, and became a journalist. I interviewed people ranging from VIPs like R. k. Laxman, singer Shankar Mahadevan and Palkhivala to violent boys in prison and victims in hospitals. I did paragliding, I covered miss world contests , attended big functions, reviewed dramas, films and books. I presented a paper at the United Nations, I was awarded Woman of Substance and other awards. I write books going deep into the dacoit infested areas of Gadchiroli in Maharashtra. And much much more. My husband and children are well settled and have three lovely grandchildren. Despite my beginning I can truly say I am an empowered woman today
