STARTING A BUSINESS AS AN AGEING WOMAN - does life suck?

About 3 years ago in 2017 I retired at the age of 55 years old......just was too tired literally. I had worked as an Accountant for over 30 years and simply hated my job but it paid the bills and allowed me to live a good life style.......

In Nov 2017, one of my best friend persuaded me to start a publication business - so I started THE VINTAGE LINK [FIJI]PTE.....we now publish a two monthly print magazine called I AM WOMAN around the Fiji Islands and our subscriptions are getting popular around the world and we now have members in Australia, NZ and USA......

Last year 2019, we realised that our teenagers was lacking in good reading materials with goof information.....so we started the I AM TEEN Digital Magazine which is online on ISSUU platform and is starting to get popular......

Yes freinds and family think I am stupid starting a business during these times and at my age.....what do you think?.....I am not going to lie......sometimes I wake up in the morning....all I want to do is just to go back to bed and binge watch movies all day.....but I realise that all of a sudden I have about three to four people that I need to pay wages to.....who are dependent on me for their livelihood......so I get up and its another new challenging day.......

The magazine hires predominantly women to help them acquire a new technical skill.....most of them are right out of secondary school and have no formal qualifications.....so we challenge them and ask them to write an article or take photogrpahs....the articles are totally raw and REAL and I suppose this is what attract our readers as they are not qualified Journalists or writers.......

We think \"outside the box\" and there have been incidents where our people [Fiji Citizens] have not quite \"understood\" the meaning of \"giving a voice to our young people\".....and yes we have been cyber bullied because of a video about mukbang - eating of seafood. The cyber bullying have been really bad, personal and nasty......but it is 2020 now and we have survived the nastiness and we will continue to give a voice to our young women to freely express themselves.....

As the world face a global pandemic - the coronavirus....there is so much uncertainity and in Fiji being a patriochal society, there is hidden anger, unhappiness, uneasiness as our local political scene in Fiji is erratic to say the least.

I continue to be optimistic in us human beings......my dad said there is always kindness in everyone.....lets look for it within one another...
