PANIC IN FIJI MY BELOVED COUNTRY - FIRST COVID19 CASE

Yesterday was a bit of a reality check for all of us here in Fiji. We now have our first confirmed COVID19 case. Poor guy is a young flight attendant for our local airline Fiji Airways.....Our Government has now closed down the town that he is from.......and it was really shocking to see the panic buying at supermarkets.....again toilet paper and food stuff was the target......I was too tired to do any shopping.....and the heavy rain did not help.....

FAce Book was so quick to post his photo and by now his family is being isolated.....all public gatherings with 20 or more people have now being cancelled and we take precautions of our own......coming from a small developing country are we able to "handle" the impact of COVID19?....Most of us who are Christians are now turning to our Gods for intervention.....in the next few weeks......we will see how we are able to survive within our households as well as with one another......I have so much faith in Fiji citizens.....we have gone through cyclones....coups....and we are still here living with one another....

Am so worried about my small business.......but I will work harder to ensure that all the magazines are sold and that we have advertisements to pay our workers and pay our bills and be able to help our most vulnerable women in our country......
