BEING A WOMAN SUCKS - WIDOW HARASSMENT

Bula [Greetings from Fiji] everyone.....Today I celebrate my 60th Birthday and have decided to stay home, not work the whole of today and look back at my life.......and look forward....

My life journey like other women have had its ups and downs.....and as a business woman who has retired I have tried to help other women in my small company......which is a magazine called I AM WOMAN Magazine........we are only three years old....

In January this year, my brother-in-law passed on and all of a sudden my sister became a widow....from her part she misses him but she is also relieved to see he is not suffering anymore.....but within a week the harassment started.....from men in the neighborhood......family and friends......a male neighbour thought he was within his right to harass my sister by coming to the house almost everyday.....thank goodness I live downstairs......we started padlocking the gates....BUT why should we

Then you have friends who think they can now come home to have drinks etc......

Then you have family as well who are harassing my sister as well.......so I did an article for our magazine on widow harassment and was shocked to see that other widows faced the same harassment.....mostly by men and family......DAMN seriously?

What is wrong with people in our world now? There is selfishness, exploitation, harassment happening to our widows and what shocked me the most was harassment from family......

I did abit of research and found out that it happens around the world as well......this is sad........
