Mensuration in my country

One of the major challenges of the Nigerian girl-child is Mensuration and it's hygiene, growing I had difficult with taking care of myself because of the economic situation of things my parents weren't buoyant enough to provide all my needs and one of the overlooked needs was sanitary pads, there were days I had to use my skirt, pieces of mattress or tissue papers which were very uncomfortable now that i have graduated from Nursing school and 27years old, I decided to make a change and help young girls have access to sanitary pads, we have started making the impacts and our NGO is registered with the Nigerian Cooperate Affairs Commission, so far we have reached out to 600 girls in 3 different states... What I lack mostly is mentorship, I wish I can get someone to mentor me.

Hi there Vivian. Welcome to World Pulse:-) Thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself, your passion and your NGO. I'm sure you'll be able to find a mentor, or at least someone who can help you on here with your NGO - advise-wise. There are a lot of women on here that are also passionate about girls' hygiene. Have you looked on the community page and searched by country and topic? You can try here: https://www.worldpulse.com/en/my-pulse/community. Or, you can also post on the "resources" page posting about what you are specifically looking for on here: https://www.worldpulse.com/en/my-pulse/resources. Let us know what you're looking for, specifically:-)

Dear Vivian,

Congratulations on graduating as a nurse, such needed and important work. This is what jumps out to me: "I decided to make a change and help young girls". From your beautiful photo here it is obvious that many have already had their lives change, thanks to your commitment. Wonderful to see the different ages standing together.

In sisterhood,
Tam

Hi Vivian,
Its an amazing project you are working.
A girl or a woman's pride is her " period"
However when not handled properly it can be very intimidating.
Keep up the efforts to help these girls.

Weldone sis, keep the impact coming
