WHAT I THINK ABOUT GIRL MENTORSHIP

Mentorship or mentoring is all about somebody volunteering to build young ones life for sometime.Mentors and Mentees join together and form matches.As already we have our coaches its upon them to know a mentor ,such as who he is,his work, edu achieved,language / fluent or not in English,providing full details so that they will know what kind of a person are they assigning a girl to.But in this case our coaches are blessed to have us already on world pulse,they can easily access to our profiles.The volunteer being the mentor plays a very vital role, he /she is an ambassador,advocator,a supporter,a coach and a friend.However the mentees on the other hand should be open and active within the match.

Also a girl mentor is a professional woman who volunteers and participate in mentoring one teenage girl by supporting and guide her during the transition to young adulthood.Mentors should be grown peolpe at least above 21 years of age.Mentors should be carefully screened so that the matching will be perfect lest wrong combinations are made and one s life becomes a disaster.

Time commitment is very important also.There is a need for a mentor and mentees to spend time together.Despite the fact that we are online mentors, we ought to know that uniting with your mentee must be met.Mentors ought to enrich their relationships with these girl.Bringing ones life is not bread and butter.We need to be sensetive,pay attention to the girls needs and wants,but also very carefull so that you dont create uncondusive atmosphere.Like being assertive the girl must be rest assured.We dont know what program our coaches in girl mentor will provide in order for us to resume our responsibilites over these dear lives.I understand people are from different countries but the girls are from Ghana.So mentors should be positive and promote a healthy and trusting relationship.

Finally its an honour to be given an opportunity to mentor somebody.Its a good thing to do even in the sight of the lord.Surely as mentors give away their energy and support to these girls, coming from all walks of life its like you are lending God.So the reward for mentors shall be great.So we can do it.
