Sexual Abuse_ The Contemporary Misdemeanor

Sexual Abuse is real, the Nigerian media has been so bamboshed with reports of Fathers molesting children and religious leaders abusing their members. Hmm.so what is the solution to these wahala which some persons refer to as signs of the end times.Well sexual abuse has been ungoing just that for some reasons or so people were silent about it.Remember the media stories of Catholic priests molesting young children. So the best way to address these issue is for persons to be aware what constitute Sexual Abuse and Sexually abusing a person is not cool but a criminal act.

As parents also, we should constantly talk to our children about their breast, vagina, penis, navel, etc and no one has the right to touch them inappropriately.Growing up I had an uncle, who I later started to refer to as pecki man because he always wanted  me to peck him but with time I realize that he started using sweets, suya  etc. to lure me into kissing him. With time, I started to run away anytime he came around.Off course no one could understand why I was running away from him.

All said and done, there is constant need to talk to young people about sexual abuse and I am happy that is what we are doing at the Women & Girl Child Capabilities &Empowerment Organization.Would you partner with us today in saying No to Sexual Abuse  send us an email today at wgcceeo@gmail.com

Hello, Oluwatoyin,

It’s really disheartening to read or hear news about sexual abuse. You’re right parents need to talk to children about what parts of the body are ok or not ok to touch.

I can so relate on adult men being “sweet” to me as a girl. I should have known better then.

Thank you for sharing about this social issue.

Hello Oluwatoyin,
I too concern about this issue a lot. you rightly said that we need to talk about good touch and Bad touch with all Children. with it I would like to add that we need to create a confidence between women to speak about Sexual Harassment and involve men in stopping sexual Harassment campaign.
Lots of Love and spirit

I hope you're doing well, and having a great week:-)
