Introducing myself and my journal: women's empowerment!

About Me:
In 2007 I founded Women's Global Empowerment Fund offering microfinance and educational programming to women in northern Uganda. My movitivation is the belief that, given and opportunity, women can rise above poverty with dignity. We are based in Denver, Colorado, and have an office in Gulu, northern Uganda. I am a single mom, with two fabulous daughters, who make me laugh and are my best friends.
Women's Global is my life's work and it is a privilege to work with such resilliant, gracious women, who desire an opportunity to create a brighter, more secure future for themselves and their families.

My Passions:
social justice, laughing, reading, cooking, films

My Challenges:
working in a post conflict region, raising money

My Vision for the Future:
women's global continues to grow and reach more and more women, changing the landscape of the region and challenging the entrenched partriarchy

My Areas of Expertise:
gender and development, microfinance, poverty issues
