Am Yahaya Abu Bakarr Sheriff from Freetown, Sierra Leone. It a honor and pleasure to be here in this humble group and i thank you all for accepting me.

One in three women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence mostly by an intimate partner. This is indeed a depressing statistics, The situation becomes even more devastating when you hear news of high profile women getting beaten up in her youth age.

Gender-based violence is a global epidemic. It crosses every social and economic class, ethnicity, race, religion, and education level, and transcends international borders. My idea will covers the facts and consequences surrounding violence against women and girls, the responsibility that men have in preventing gender-based violence, and the necessary and practical approaches to ending it.

Dear Yahaya,

Your title  MEN PLEASE STOP VIOLENCE AGANIST WOMEN is such a powerful and direct call for action. Thank you for standing up and inviting men to do the work of stopping violence against women. I want to encourage you that your efforts are much appreciated. Here is a link to a video put together here in Canada. I want you to know that there are other men coming forward too.

I wish you well with all that you do.

Best Wishes,
