Uptonow, patriarchy culture still exist in Indonesian society. This culture can be found in any aspects, such as economy, education, politic, even law. As a result, many social problems come up that restrain women’s freedom and violate women’sright. Although Indonesia is a law country, but in the fact the law itself can not accommodate any of those socia lproblems. It becauses the women’s problems are considered just the domestic ones. This makes law enforcement still in undercontrol and gender injustice. So that is why, the role of social workers is really needed, in order to help solving the problems. The result shows a link between patriarchy cultureand any of social problems also social reality that happens in Indonesian society.
In dealing with various issues is an impact of patriarchal culture, social workers have several roles, namely: 1. Advocator. Social workers help provide legal protection to clients. Way done is to assist victims at the level of investigation, examination, and prosecution in court and provide objective guidance. Social workers also collaborate or negotiate with other parties so that cases affecting clients can be investigated as fairly as possible. 2. Negotiator Social workers become representatives of clients voice out his rights and discuss with other parties who can provide assistance, suppose social workers become representative in the discussion about handling the case of domestic violence with KOMNAS institutions WOMAN. In the discussion, social worker explains the condition of the victim clearly and what are the losses that are they experience. 3. Coordinator. The social worker becomes the coordinator inside the process of providing assistance or services towards clients. In this case also, workers social giving direction to various parties to work together in fighting for the interests of victims. For example, social workers form a team that has goals for prevent early marriage, then the social worker shares participation assignments to each individual on the team, starting from the role to do identification process until completion. 4. Intermediary. Social workers connect clients with the party who has the potential to deliver help or service. The social worker also brings the two parties together to identify the problem what happened and together seek a solution. 5. Enabler. Social workers help clients in identify the problem with clear, as well as re-discovering the potential they have after all the problems or traumatic events that occur. For example, social workers facilitate victims of domestic violence victims to return to find the spirit of life through fun activities or activities. 6. Counselor. Social workers provide guidance psychologically to the client by doing active listening and facilitate the client in talking about the problem. Then, the social worker also gives empathy to the client through providing moral support. For example, social workers listen to stories from women who become community monthly because they just divorced their husbands carefully and patiently.
Conclusion. The data in this article shows that many social problems have the same root cause, namely the lasting patriarchal culture. Although it is not easy to change gender-biased policies with a more gender-equitable construction and women-friendly, but it must still be pursued. The struggle must be followed simultaneously with advocacy to support structural and cultural changes in attitudes and behaviors that are gender-equitable. The substance of gender bias will not be able to change to be gender equitable, if structurally the state administrators do not sensitive to gender and issues regarding women themselves and society still perpetuating an unjust gender construction in their society. Women's struggle in ending an unjust system (gender injustice) is not just just the struggle of women against men, but the struggle against the system and the structure of community injustice as well patriarchal culture which has a negative stigma. And of course as a professional party, social workers have the authority to help overcome various things that occur as a result of the influence of the patriarchal culture through ways which is well systematic.
