Yosra,

Some People like me, just read what other applicants write and like to give my opinion or support. I am not assessing, I believe someone out there is assessing all out writings, so all you have to do is to post and interact with people :)

best regards

I have received comments, some advising and some complimenting and didn't think of them as my particular listener.

Ultimately there will be people adjudicating the final selection, Listeners are only assigned to "Listen" to the wording and comment. Rest easy sister we will hone this writing thing.

Keep writing!

PS We are adviced to friend Listeners.

I read this on the VOF Classroom Application Classroom. The last sentence says it is closed to non-Listeners.

  1. Who will be reading my assignment? World Pulse has gathered together an international panel of Listeners, composed of World Pulse staff, community members and volunteers. This panel will be reviewing your assignments based on the criteria listed on the Applicants Group page. You are encouraged to meet the Listeners by visiting their group here. Although this group is closed to non-Listeners, you will be able to friend Listeners and stay informed of what is happening "behind the scenes."

A listener got in touch with me over on my first week's post I talk you talk, we make a resonant buzzand indicated she was the assigned listener for me. She commented on the post.

I don't know how it works though. I am assuming they get in touch with you if anything is wrong - in my case I was told I was over the word limit. Maybe they just silently listen and assess as long as we meet the requirements. When we don't meet the requirement they make themselves visible and advice???!!!! Maybe. Just guessing :)

What I am sure about is, is that this group is very professional and well organized. So I guess there is nothing to worry about.

Let's wait and see what Delphine or Zoe has to say about this. Now I am curious :)

Regards Aminah

No listener has communicated to me. Does this mean none of them is reading my assignment?

I think in due time everything will be sorted out and I am certain that as long as we tag our assignments correctly, Someone is definitely listening!

Best wishes sisters,

Hello Everyone,

Each of your assignment gets reviewed 3 times. This means that it gets 3 different reads. The Listener then gives your assignment a 'grade' that does not post onto the World Pulse journal.

The grade is a form that my team uses. The comments are not to be evaluating you but really because the Listener felt compelled to leave a comment.

Hope this answers your questions.

Regards,

Thanks Zoe for answering our questions. I'm relifed for knowing that It doesn't make difference if I didn't get a feed back with a subject line "I'm your listener"

thanks ^_^

Hello Yosra, and all,

Listeners are reading every assignments you submit as part of the Voices of Our Future application and they should leave a comment on you post with some feedback. Your assignment gets read, but comments are not left because something is wrong with it. Comments from anybody are meant to keep connections happening and keep the community engaged about the topic of your writing. Listeners are not grading your work, they are looking for the criteria of selection identified by World Pulse, which are: - Expression of a positive vision for the future and solutions-oriented writing - Commitment to promote global issues through the eyes of women - Communication of personal experience as an underrepresented voice in your community, nation, or world; living in a developing country or conflict zone; or facing discrimination on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, race, or social class - Demonstration of leadership on a personal, community, national, or global level.

Listeners can identify themselves as such, but sometimes they do not. If you have not been in touch with a listener, it does not mean that your work is not being read. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Good luck to you all! Cheers,
