Why I now integrate Digital Literacy as one of my organization's programs

I have always wanted to enhancemy digital literacy skills. This was not only to impact my personal and professional developmentbut to have an impact in my community as well. This goal became a reality in early 2016 when I joined World Pulse and was trained as a Voices of Our Future leader. As a result of this training, I have led and participated in many digital literacy projects that include starting my blog, contributing to other organizations' blog, joining international digital literacy initiativesand empowering other womenwith digital literacy skills in order to reach their fullest potential.

Empowering women with digital literacy skills was the best of all. Being a Voices of Our (VOF) and a World Pulse member increased my engagement with women through the Women and the Web Alliance Project (WWA). Through the WWA project, I have reached more than 40 women directly with digital literacy skills. Our sessions which provided an opportunity for me to introducethe women to World Pulse showed me the urgent need for digital literacy skills among women from disadvantaged backgrounds. This prompted me to do participate in the phasessessions of the WWA project. As a result, I have also integrated digital literacy for women and girls as one of my organizations programs.

My experience in the WWA project has showed me that digital literacy has a social and economic impact in the lives of women and girls.I am grateful to World Pulse for helping me to make this discovery which will contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 5 at the local level.
