Today, I dashed out to the supermarket to purchase a few essentials for home. On my way back to the parking lot, I passed a hairdressing salon and a hairstylist was sitting at the entrance of the shop and busy reading a book. As I neared the hairstylist, I recognized the title of the book and it happened to be by one of my favorite authors Robin Sharma - "The Monk who sold his Ferrari". Incidentally, I read this book in 2010 and since then have RS's entire collection sitting on my bookshelf.
I immediately stopped and approached the stylist and remarked how this book has been a life-changing book for me. I have used RS's words of wisdom to build my business acumen.
Relaying this advice to the stylist, I saw the stylist suddenly come alive and we immediately connected and since it is my local shopping center, I promised to pop by again soon to talk about the book.
I left there smiling, thinking, and reflecting on how a "book" connected me to a total stranger. One of my hobbies is reading and of recent, especially since the lockdown, I have been craving friendships that could engage with me and we share interesting business lessons learned through books. It seems that my Angels have heard my wish. For this I am grateful.
Napoleon Hill explains it well when he says "Knowledge is only potential power. It becomes power only when, and if, it is organized into definite plans of action, and directed to a definite end.”
Super happy to have found a friend through my hobby!
Much love to you all my sisters.
