Beneath the vast azure, we the children of one Supreme live, constantly in conflict with one another, continously in an urge to pull down others and be hypocritic. Discrimination too is the biggest wall which separates people from each other, whether it is of gender, caste or skin.

When people who have minimal resources succumb to these pressures of discrimiation, violence and separatism, a small device or a powered gadget can change their life for ever. It might be just another gadget for us to surf the world through our fingers ,but for them it can be the most powerful weapon of protection ,an alarm in their palm which can raise an alarm ,whenevr they feel they are in danger.

BLUE speaks thus

numerous shades of blue I hath seen

the sumptuous ones that galore in sky

flowers of  morning glory blossoming in blue

the blue I loved more of ocean deep,

ecstatic  me and my being

Blue hath been the sapphire of a ring

in every attire I marked its splendor

until

that night I slipped

and saw her sitting on the pavement

I feared the blue every night since then,

the bruises on her skin and cuts on her cheeks

badly beaten blue yet silent

I witnessed the emptiness in her blue iris

on the same path we both were

I was dressed in blue

she decked with blows of blue

another instant I could feel her breath

she lend her hand to help me out

Her strength reassured

she wasn’t ready to bog down…

I left my mobile with her that night

she smiled as her palm touched  the empowering device

Now we meet on crossroads

contended .

Dear Soumya,

Once again your beautiful poetry touched my heart deeply, and reminds me of the power of kindness, compassion, generosity.

With love in sisterhood,

 Soumya,

Your poem was beautiful; thank you for sharing it. I had a few moments of quiet reflection over the content as well as the empowering aspect of a cell phone, something that I had never given much thought to. It shows that there are many ways to educated people on issues, whether it be through social media, articles, film, or beautiful poems such as yours.

Cheers,

Samantha

Dear Samantha, Very true that often the things which we or people possess as part of their luxury or comfort are the smallest yet most powerful ones for those who need to connect and speak. A silent powerful yet small gadget can help you feel connected and secured while in case of any sort of trauma, mishap, abuse or emergency. Although there are pros and cons to each advancement of technology, its utility is surely important for many of us. Regards, Soumya

Hello Soumya,

First, I want to thank you for your beautiful words and truly moving poem. You so beautifully captured what it means to lend a helping hand, and you show us how a simple piece of techonology that so many of us take for granted can be life-saving, literally. Thank you for making me reflect on my own use of technology and for reminding me that no tool is too small in the hands of someone who truly needs it. I hope to hear more from you as the campaign goes on. You truly have a great way with words.

Keep it up!

Pilar

Dear Pilar, Thanks for your cooperation and joining me here on this platform. Indeed, no tool is smaller or lesser when it comes to be a saviour in certain situations. We often forget ,how without the gadgets people were disconnected and so could not raise a cry of help when in need. Mobiles today have changed that scenario and help a lot in case of critical situations. Hopefully the power in hands is provided to every hand which needs it most desperately. Best wishes, Soumya

Thanks dear Soumya for this touching and powerful verse. Although technology and gadgets can help or harm, people must be encouraged to use them knowing their pros and cons. May your initiatives and writings continue reaching those who need them most.

Warm wishes,

Pushpa
